PETRONAS, short for Petroleum Nasional Berhad, is a Malaysian owned oil and gas company that was founded on August 17, 1974. Wholly owned by the Government, the corporation is vested with the entire oil and gas resources in Malaysia and is entrusted with the responsibility of developing and adding value to these resources.In Malaysia, there are many area that are being use for petroleum industries. Kertih is one of the major oil terminal in malaysia that refine around 40,000 bbl/d) .
Kertih is a small oiltown in southern Terengganu, Malaysia. The town's economy is based on the petroleum and petrochemical industries. A huge oil refinery is located not far from the old town near Paka. Exxon Mobile a major oil and gas company used to be based in Kertih until 2003 when they pull out. Now Petronas, Malaysia's national oil company takes full charge in Kertih.
